Hi,

I looked around and couldn't find this post anywhere else but if im repeating the same question then please let me know.

I have just got a STM32 evaluation board mostly just to mess around with and learn from as I am a student. This is a link to the manual so you all know exactly what one im going on about

http://www.st.com/internet/com/TECHNICAL_RESOURCES/TECHNICAL_LITERATURE/USER_MANUAL/CD00267113.pdf

I have downloaded and installed Ride7 but im facing a rather fundamental problem. It cant/wont see the board when its plugged in! I simply cannot connect to the board at all it just comes up with "unable to open USB connection with RLink"

My PC sees it as a usb flash drive when plugged in and the board all lights up but that's as far as it goes.
I have made sure the jumpers are in the correct place as the manual states.

The worrying thing is I cannot find this problem anywhere else on the internet so am I just being very silly here?

Thanks in advance,

Darren.

P.s im running a windows7 32bit system.

Hi Darren,

You need an RLink to connect to your STM32L-Discovery board. It has an integrated ST-Link, which is not supported in Ride.

I hope this helps,
