Hello, I am using: Chip: STM32F103R8T6 (I am not sure about revision, probably 'Y' because last character at the first line is 'Y') A tiny help will be hugely appreciated. |
Hello Vincent,
Yes. It's definetely not a cristal the reason for the problem. We took workable chip from Reva board and soldered it on our board and got the same message "Read-out protection". So we definitely need to find a bug in our board.
Thanks,
Andrew
Hi,
A few months ago, one of our customers encountered the same issue. It was due to VSSA / VDDA.
I suggest that you try to connect directly VCC and VDDA (and VSS-VSSA.
Let me know if it works.
Francis
Hello Francis,
Thanks a lot for the advice. Our problem was in the reset switch that was soldered incorrectly and caused a chip to be in permanent reset state.
thanks.
Andrew
Hi,
Thanks for your feedback.
I would like to modify the software for it to issue a clearer error message in this or other similar situations.
For this I will try to reproduce your problem here on one of my boards...
I just tried tying RST to GND, but I receive a different message than you: 'unable to reset device and enter debug mode', which is much better than 'readout protection'
Can you please describe more precisely what was happening to the RST signal?
Best Regards,
Vincent
Hello Vincent,
What we had is SW1 short-circuited to the ground. (I assume you have our schematics).
Best regards,
Andrew
