Greetings,
Is it possible to call STM8_pgm.exe to list it's supported devices?

The part I'm trying to program is a STM8AF5198TAR, but STM8_pgm says "Unable to find product in list of supported devices". Every variant on that part number seems to fail as well.

Thanks very much,

Hi,

The list of devices supported by STM8_pgm is the same as in Ride and RFlasher.
The simplest way to see it is to open RFlasher, select the STM8 familly, and look at the available derivatives.
This way you are sure to see the real list that your version of Ride/RFlasher/STM8_pgm support.

Now, the STM8AF5198TAR is not in the list yet.
But it should work by selecting the STM8AF619, which is supported, and is close enough to the STM8AF519:
the only difference is the CAN, which does not change anything as far as Flash programming is concerned.

If that doesn't work, please keep me informed and I will solve it ASAP.
(but ASAP might mean that I have to ask ST to send me a chip like yours, which takes a few days)

Best Regards,

Vincent

Hi

I think STM8AF519x are not supported.
Also you can see all supported targets from Ride7 software: "Advanced STM8 options->processor".

Thank you both for your prompt replies.

It would appear that the STM8AF519 is not supported, although I tried using STM8AF619 instead and it seems to have worked. It would be nice to see this chip supported, but hey, it works so I can't complain.

Thanks again,
-Matt

Hi Matt,

Thanks for your report.
We are currently evaluating support for the STM8A51xx devices. There is a good chance that we support them in the next release of RKit-STM8 for Ride7.
