Hello,

I installed the new version of Ride (7.20.0903) and RKit-Arm (1.20.0903 ) after i saw that the new RKit was available.

First i did this in a new Windows installation running under VMWare to check if this combination would work with
my configuration.
The installation went without any problems.
The first thing that happend when i started Ride was that it complained about missing MFC71.dll.
This is probably due to the fact that this was a new XP-SP3 installation but i think MFC71 should be in the Ride installation

After copying the MFC71 files from the host os to the virtual machine Ride started and after copying some library files
it also compiled my projects.

Since it looked oke i also installed the new releases on my portable main os (also XP-SP3), this system has MFC71 installed
with an other program so Ride worked without complaining.

During compilation i noticed that it seemed to be a lot slower than my main development system .

Starting a debug session gave an error message that it could not load a dll ( Armsigdrv.dll) for the Signum Jtagjet emulator
The Signum tools could connect to the Jtagjet without problems so it looks like a problem with Ride

After this i uninstalled both Ride and Rkit-Arm and then installed the previous versions of Ride (7.18.0903) en
Rkit-Arm (1.18.0903) .
After a few attempst to start a debugging session a window appeared with the Jtagjet serial nr and after closing that
i could start the debug session.

One thing i noticed is that in the Ride 7.18.0903 release i could click on the 'advanced options' button in the project
options screen and this opened the window that lets you check the connection to the target etc.

In the Ride 7.20.09.0139 release clicking the advanced option button gave no result.

It looks like Ride 7.20 has problems with the Signum JtagJet.

I noticed that other users also had problems with this release and hope that all these will be fixed in the next release.

One thing i know for sure : i will test it in a virtual machine before installing it on one of the development systems.

Kind regards,
Ed van Rijn

Hi

The latest release has been done with major changes in term of installation technology.
This explains the unusual issues which happened.
Here are some answers to your issues:

1 The problem of mfc dll ha not been detected during test because the machine had other software which already them
It has been corrected and will be availabloe up on next release of Ride7.

2. Compilation speed slow done on big project has been introduced since two releases in Ride7.
But it was not visible depnding on te machine and projects.
It has been corrected and will be availabloe up on next release of Ride7.

3. Debug with jtag-jet issue might come from the fact recently we moved files from one kit to another
in order to avoid duplication, we will check for sure this point.
After finding the issue we might give a fix before next release.

Thank for your reports

Regards,
Matloub
