Hello I just downloaded Ride7_7.32.11.0112.exe and RKit-ARM_1.32.11.0116.msi. I am using an STM32 Cortex M3 microcontroller. After installing Ride7 I try to install the RKit-ARM but get the following error message: < IMAGE NO LONGER AVAILABLE ON IMAGE UPLOAD SITE >

Hi,

You probably forgot to uninstall Ride7 before upgrading.
You need to:
1) Uninstall your RKit
2) Uninstall Ride7 (old version)
3) Install the new Ride7
4) Install the new RKit

That should do it.
Best Regards,

Hi Bruno

Thanks for your reply.

I did perform the steps you outlined above before with no luck.

However, in order to get it to install I manually had to remove the Ride7 folder in Program Files.

Hi, Some Ride7 installations suffer from an administrative rights problem. This typically happens when Ride7 has been installed in administrator mode, but *not* with the "Run as Administrator..." option. there may be other cases where this procedure is needed. Here is a procedure that you must follow to reinstall your Raisonance tools, which will ensure that your installation is clean: 1) Download the Raisonance tools uninstaller from http://support.raisonance.com/content/how-can-i-uninstall-all-raisonance-tools-same-time and execute it. It will remove all Raisonance tools from your disk. ***WARNING*** Be sure that there is no valuable data in your Ride7 installation directory and subdirs (including examples and projects created in the default Ride7 folder), as everything will be erased. 2) Download the latest Ride7 software and necessary RKit from http://support-raisonance.com/ and place them in a *local* directory on your machine (i.e., NOT on a network drive, CD-ROM or on a removable drive) 3) Right-click on the downloaded Ride7 installation package executable and select "Run as administrator", then proceed through the installation steps (REALLY DO IT!) 4) Right-click on the downloaded RKit(s) installation package(s) and select "Run as administrator", then proceed through the installation steps. 5) (First launch only) Click on "Start | Programs | Raisonance | Ride", then right-click on the Ride7 icon and select "Run as administrator", then open the "Help | About" dialog box. 6) Make a screenshot using the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard. Open the "Paint" tool from Windows and paste the screenshot into it. You can save the screen copy to an image file for later use. Once the above steps have been followed, Ride7 should definitively be installed and in a proper shape. 7) You can optionally register your tools through Ride7 "Help | Licence" menu, following the instructions given. In case you are using a Raisonance USB protection dongle, you will need to install the Sentinel drivers, which are available from the Ride7 installation directory, subdirectory "Bin" (default is C:\Program Files\Raisonance\Ride\Bin\) Please let us know when the problem has been solved satisfactorily. Regards, The Raisonance support team.

Thanks for the detailed info, but.....
it still fails at your step 4,
I mean it comes with the error message that you can see in the first post above.

just to make sure I do everything right:
1. Downloaded the Raisonance tools uninstaller and run it.
2. manually deleted the left-over folder.
3. Downloaded the latest Ride7 software and necessary RKit (Ride7_7.38.12.0097 & RKit-ARM_1.38.12.0027), and placed them in the *local* D: partition on my machine.
4. Right-clicked on the downloaded Ride7 installation package executable and selected "Run as administrator", then proceeded through the installation steps (I REALLY DID IT!)
......I want to mention on this step that only the extracting might be run as administrator, as this is only a self-extracting compressed file.....so when I get the option to actually install RIDE7 there is no run as administartor available in the window.....
5. instalation seemed to finish OK, I even get the message it was installed successfully.
6. now comes the problem.....installing the kit....
Right-clicked on the downloaded KIT installation package executable and selected "Run as administrator", then proceeded through the installation steps....
.....at the begining it detects RIDE7 as being installed...but later it says it won't work if RIDE7 IDE isn't installed.....as in the first poster's picture.

so what did I just installed earlier??? not RIDE7 IDE??? what is this file: Ride7_7.38.12.0097????

my machine...win7_32 bit
I tried installing it in:
C:\program file\raisonance
or
C:\raisonance
or
C:\ride
or
C:\program file\ride

all with the same wonderfull effect.
of course that before each of these installs I did the un-install as instructed.

Hmmmm... looks strange. Usually the autoextractible Ride7 setup executable executes automatically afetr extraction.
In case you want to proceed more "manually", here is a procedure that may work in your case:

- Uninstall everything (just as above)
- Open a command prompt as administrator: Find the "Console" application from you Windows startup menu, right-click it and "run as admin".
- If your installation files are already extracted, run the .msi installer FROM THE ADMIN COMMAND PROMPT. (type the file name then press "enter").
- Same from your RKit.
- Next you can proceed to step 5) above.

Let us know if this fixes your problem.

If you still have some problems, we need the following information about your configuration:
- Version of Windows: At a command prompt type the following command: "systeminfo.exe", which gives you a system report. We need the full "Operating System" and "Version" from the report.
- Version of Ride7 and RKit that you are using. You can get these from the Ride7 "Help | About" dialog box.
- Your Ride7 serial key or your RLink/Primer/Open4 serial number.
Please check from the Raisonance downloads page at http://support-raisonance.com that you are using the latest version of the tools.

Notes:
1) Raisonance toolsets and Ride7 operate on Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit), Windows Vista (32 and 64-bit) and Windows XP SP3 (32-bit only). Other versions of Windows, including Windows 2000, Windows XP 64-bit and Windows Server, are not supported.
2) Only native versions of Windows are supported. Emulators such as VMware, QEMU, Citrix, Wine, Xen (or others) are not supported.

Best Regards,

Hi,

When Ride7 is installed, can you check the registries with regedit (launched as administrator) and tell us the keys and their values in "HKLM\Software\Raisonance\Ride7\Default Directories"?

Regards

Hi Stephane,

There seems to be a problem here in the registry.

I click on the srtart orb, write regedit in the search programs and files, (don't hit enter yet), regedit appears at the top of my list (the only in the list anyway), right click on it and run as administrator.
It opens OK, I go to...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\RAISONANCE\Ride7
there are 2 folders in there: Default Directories and HardKeyLock.
if I go into HardKeyLock folder I can see some keys and their data.
but as you requested the keys in Default Directories folder....when I try to go into this folder I get an error message...
Default Directories cannot be opened.
An error is preventing this key from being opened.
Details: Access is denied.
.....end of error message.

and of course I don't see nothing (no keys) in the right panel.

Just wanted to mention that due to this system (....I post a reply that needs to be aproved by a moderator....), it seems that my posts are aproved by next day.
As today is Friday, and we are finishing at 3 o'clock, the next 3 weeks I'll be in holiday.
So if this post of mine would be aproved by tomorrow, then I won't read it until 3 weeks from now.....no computers for me in holiday!!!

So most probably we will carry on solving this misery (....sorry I meant mystery) after 3 weeks.

Thanks.

It looks like you had Ride6 previously installed. This would explain the problem.

Hello,

Thank you for using Raisonance products.

Please deleted all Raisonance registries manually and install Ride 7 and then the needed Rkit.

Best regards,
