Is it possible to run multiple RLink programmers at the same time using a multi-threaded application? How would you determine which one to program? |
Hi,
For now, the RLink software is not able to handle several RLinks properly. Therefore, we don't support this.
However, there are some situations where it can be done. But we don't guarantee anything.
Basically, Windows makes a list of the RLinks sorted in the order in which they were plugged. Then, the first software to try to connect to a RLink will connect to the first RLink that was plugged, the second software to the second RLink and so on... Depending on what you are doing, you might make use of it or not. Some customers (and us) have used this with 2 or 3 RLinks for programming. For other operations or with more RLinks, it quickly becomes quite messy.
It is planned to add a feature in our software for handling this nicely, but we have a lot of more urgent things to do, so I cannot commit an any date.
Best Regards,
Vincent
