Good morning.
I'm pretty newbie with the ST uCs. I'm using the RlinkTool and the Ride7 for programming a ST72324J6 (44 PINs)
I'm finding in trouble debugging this uC because it's without the Debug Module. The

Hello,

I think the ST72F324BJ6 should do it, but you should ask ST support to be sure.

I can't change uC (the PCB is not mine...) but I can use a different one just for the debugging phase.
Can you help me finding a PIN to PIN compatible uC with the Debug Module?

Thanks
GiBi

Please note that ST72521 (suggested by ST AN1446) is 64/80 PINs...

Hi,

Sorry, the ST72F324B does NOT have a Debug Module.

The ST72F321BJ6 should be pin-compatible and includes a debug module... It might lack some peripherals that are in the 324, but with some luck you don't use these...

Again, to be sure you should ask ST support, and get an answer from some real people, not just search the appnotes. ;)

I will ask my contact at ST.

Best Regards,

Vincent

Hi,

Here is the answer I received from ST:

Quote:

There is no equivalent of the ST72324J6 that includes the debug module.

The ST72F325 and ST72F321B are the closest matches, are pin-compatible, and they include debug modules. But they don't have exactly the same peripherals. So if your application uses some peripherals that are present on the 324 and not on the 325/321, then you cannot use them as equivalents. But maybe you can, if your application does not use these peripherals.

The only other option is to use the EMU3 emulator from ST. In fact, this is probably what was used to initially design your application by whoever started it, designed the PCB, etc. Maybe they can lend it to you? Otherwise you can probably get some EMU3 emulators from ST. (if there are any stocks left)

(This was translated from French by me, so you might want to get a direct answer from them to be sure...)

I hope it helps.

Best Regards,

Vincent

Thank you very much. I will check if I can use them.
