Hello, We have a STM32WL55JC and didn't succeed to flash it. It is supported by rlink programmer ? We didn't find the corresponding SIM file for this MCU. Thanks by advance. |
Hi,
Thank you for checking with us on this.
In the STM32 wireless family of devices, the Rlink with Ride7 currently supports:
STM32WB55x 8 / B / C
STM32WLE5x 8 / B / C
It appears at first glance that L55 is a superset of LE5. L55 having additional security features. You may be able to program it using the closest STM32WLE5 variant. This depends on how the device identification for programming works.
I am checking on our side to see if the L55 variants can be added, and when.
It is confirmed by our engineering that it is possible to program and debug an STM32WL55 by selecting the equivalent STM32WLE5, which are supported in Ride7.
There are limitations:
It is possible to program the Flash which is common to both CPUs.
However, debugging is only possible on the Cortex-M4 CPU1.
Ride7 does not support multi-core debugging as a general feature becasue of the cost of implementing this feature. So, even after integration of the STM32WL55, debugging will be limited.
STM32WL55 is being added to the line for integration n the next release of RKit-ARM with the limitation noted above.
