when i connect using RLINK to target i have info that target is totally protected, also after flash erase, so how to unprotect STR730 ? there is any possibility to do this? best regards |
Hi
Here is what has been answered by email.
I post it here in case someone else has the same issue.
The message "target is totally protected" is normal if the target was protected.
Is is something specific to STR7 family.
For STR7x
Reading protection is not managed by our software.
This message means that the target is Write proteted.
Write protection is stored in Flash and once it has been set it can not be changed anymore.
But its not a problem as at every reset the value of protection register is copied in to the RAM.
So if an application or our software change the value of the register in RAM the write protection is changed.

hello thanks.
sometimes i very hard switch from other MCU to ARM philosophy :)
i think in fact my i have also other problem.
in my board STR730 don't store data in flash - it's mean afet reset data are gone.
from the flash manual programming it's look like is protected Flash NV memory.
after erase the target this problem still exist. - i can't save data.
but in other baord - the same hardware and the same firmware all working ok. data was saved corretly and after reset still exist in memory.
(sorry for my bad english)
