Hi,
I have your RLink and I am having a problem running RFlasher7. I tried installing Ride7 from both the included CD version 7.24.09.0251 and from the newest version on your website 7.30.10.0169, before re-installing I uninstalled the previous version first and after reading your FAQ document I tried installing them both in the installation directory C:\Raisonance and I still get the same problem. I get a message that both Ride7 and Ride 7 patch have been successfully installed and I get no error warnings when I open RFlasher7. The problem I have is that no hardware setup window (under project options) and no programming window (under Panel [RFlasher7]) is visible. I see these screens are supposed to be there on your getting started with RFlasher7 document page 5 and when I installed this program on an XP (SP3) machine it looks OK. I have also been using RFlasher6 for years and have not seen this problem. Any ideas?
Thanks,

Hi,
Did you install any RKit? Ride7 require an RKit to really do something...
Bruno
Hi Bruno,
I currently have the newest versions from your website of Ride 7, Ride 7 Patch, RKit-ARM, and RKit-STM8 installed in the directory
C:\Raisonance\Ride and am still having the same problem. Before I bought the newest RLink I did try and install RFlasher6 from my older RLink on this W7 Pro x64 computer and of course that did not work, I had uninstalled it prior to installing the new Ride 7 and nothing showed left in any directorys or drivers for Raisonance or Ride, could this possibly have something to do with my problem?
Thanks,
Mark
Hi,
The problem you describe could be related to Windows refusing to execute scripts.
Please look at this thread, apply the solution suggested by Behnaz and see if it is the same problem:

Hi,
I applied the solution suggested by Behnaz and it returned a message that said "The module "msscript.ocx" failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files. The specified module could not be found". I had a co-worked run this on his W7 X64 machine and it returned the exact same error warning. Then I had him install the newest versions from your website of Ride 7, Ride 7 Patch, RKit-ARM, and RKit-STM8 and it worked just fine on his machine, the hardware setup and programming windows are visible and active. His machine is running straight W7 x64 pro and my machine has Windows 7 Pro 64bit Downgrade to XP Pro 64bit, SP2, No Media, Fixed Precision,English OS installed, that is the difference in our two machines. I also uninstalled Ride 7 and the RKits from my machine, cleaned the registries, and re-installed the newest versions from your website of Ride 7, Ride 7 Patch, RKit-ARM, and RKit-STM8 and still I have the same problem no hardware setup or programming windows. Any more ideas?
Thanks,
Mark
Hi,
Yes, that is a major difference. I never tried the "downgrade" thing but from what I read I expect you should consider that you are running XP, not W7.
Unfortunately, we do not support XP 64 bit. You cannot use the RLink on this OS.
(we support XP-32, Vista-32, Vista-64, Win7-32, Win7-64)
I would be curious to know the reason that led you to install such a configuration...?
You will find that a lot of things don't work in XP 64.

Vincent
@Mark,
Can you send us the full inforamtion about your version of Windows: At a command prompt type the following command: "systeminfo.exe", which gives you a system report. We need the full "Operating System" and "Version" from the report.
This will hopefully help make things clearer.
Thanks,
Bruno
Hi guys,
I am not sure of the exact reason that my pc was ordered with that version of W7 but apparently it is a common package sold by Dell. Immediately upon power up of my new pc it was upgraded to W7 Pro x64 and during that process XP gets flattened. This was done prior to any programs being installed. Here is the system info from the report:
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
OS Version: 6.1.7600 N/A Build 7600
System Type: x64-based PC
Thanks,
Mark
Hi,
What you describe now is not a 'downgrade', but an 'upgrade' ... ???
Where did you see a mention of the word 'downgrade'?
Anyways, your system info shows that you are running Win7, not XP.
So it should work. Here are some hints...
It's possible that your first install failed and left some undesired temp files.
Please try to remove these folders:
\\AppData\Roaming\Ride7
\\AppData\Roaming\RFlasher7
(some of these are hidden, and of course you need admin rights to browse and remove them)
Maybe also the install (and maybe the software itself) has to be run in "run as admin" mode.
Maybe also Windows has registered the software as requiring to be run in "compatibility mode" and you must remove this option by hand. Sometimes this option is remembered by Windows even after deinstalling and reinstalling the software.
Please let us know if it helps.
Best Regards,
Vincent
Hi,
I am not sure why they call it a downgrade, it was called that on the build sheet from Dell. Everything seems to work fine now, problem solved. It appears to have been the left over undesired temp files that were causing the problem from a previous install.
Thank you both for your help, greatly appreciated,
Mark
