We have 2 PCs running an RLINK to programme uPSD boards.
We use Raisonance Ride 7 (Ride7_7.30.10.0169) only to install the RLINK driver.
In Windows XP this works fine but I cannot get the RLINK to work in Windows 7.

Now we want to update these PCs to Windows7 but cannot get the RLINK to work.
I have tried to run XP in virtual mode under Windows 7 but that does not work either.

I managed to get a V2.0 driver installed and the unit is displayed when the RLINK is connected.

We use a ST JTAG programme (pFlink.exe) to do a command line programming so I know this is maybe a ST question.
But after all I think it is the Raisonce driver not working.
Can you help?

Hi,

Can you try to execute the "rlinkcapab.exe" utility (given with RKit-ARM) on your Win7 machine?
This will provide some detail about the RLink "visibility" and the possible driver problems.

The RLinkCapab says it works, but it still does not:
Utility rev: 090424
Serial no: dngSTD000018460
firmware: 0.0.3
driver: MS WinUSB
This is a standard RLink -STD

ST/, STM8 and uPSD devices can be programmed and debugged without limitation.
...

Do you have an idea I can try?
Best regards

Hello,

From your feedback we know that the RLink USB driver is correctly installed and working. The problem is in the higher layers of the software...

The uPSD-related ST software, including pFlink.exe, have not been ported to Win7 (no upgrade since the release of Win7) and I'm really not sure about Vista. So yes this is a question for ST.

For the short-term, if you only want to (re)program an existing obj file, you can do it in Vista or Win7 using PSD_pgm.exe. (part of Ride) Otherwise, if you need to recompile, debug or even just do the merging again, I'm afraid you'll have to keep a XP PC just for that.

In this forum there are other posts from other customers who experienced this problem. search for "PSD". (not that they provide any real satisfactory answer, but they might clarify things a little)

Best Regards,

Vincent

Thank you again, but still no success.
The RLinkWinUSBDevice driver installed has version is 6.0.6001.18000 of 22.05.2008.

I had the PSD_pgm.exe on my old PC but it is not a part of the Ride7 i have (Ride7_7.30.10.0169).
I could not get the PSD_pgm work on my old machine, do you have a help file describing the errors?
I get a lot of errors because i do not understand the parameters
ERROR 203: Unknown Device Number.

The error from the PSD_pgm on my new Win7 machine is
Error 304: Unable to open USB communication with RLINK.

Do I have to give up and reinstall XP on the new machine.
Best regards

Hi,

PSD_pgm is part of the RKit-51, not the Ride kit. Please make sure this kit is the latest.

PSD_pgm displays its own doc when executed without arguments. (do that from a command prompt otherwise it disappears right away)
