Hi,

I am trying to flash a ST7Lite09 micro and have been having some problems communicating with the device.
First of all, every file I try to load gives me an error, unable to load file, error loading file.
I am able to connect to the Rlink and retreive the serial number for the device. However, when I try to program the device I get an error,
" This version only handles Rlink's with firmware versions up to 0.0.255"
The Rlink says it has firmware 0.0.3.

When installing the program I do not get an option to select Hardkey Rlink, or to input a registration/serial key.
Am I using a demo or trial version of the software? I currently have build BN746_P1, Rkit ST7-80C51-ARM.
It appears to be the newest version. I have installed the patches from the downloads area.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for you time.

I am also now getting a message,
Error resetting in ICC Mode: NO response from Device.
The device is powered on. The St7lite09 is getting the proper input voltages of 5.1 VDC.

Hi,

The error message you get when loading a file is a known problem. It will be fixed later. You can ignore the message. The file should be loaded correctly. I suggest you check that in the data view.

You do not need a serial number or hardware protection key because the software you are using is free. The error message you get when trying to program comes because the software does not manage to retrieve the real firmware version of the RLink because of a communication error. It is NOT a protection, license or version problem. Please try to open RFlasher, check the com with RLink by reading its serial number, then try the com with the ST7 by reading its option bytes. Tell me if it how it goes and then maybe I will understand the problem.

Best Regards,

Vincent

I am able to successfully connect to the RLink.
I get the serial number and Firmware Version : 0.0.3
When I try to read the option bytes I get
RLink ST7Driver
OpenProgMessage
Error reseting in ICC mode: no response from the device
This is with ICC mode entry set to ignore option bytes.
I get the same error without ignore option bytes selected also.

I am using the RLink ST debug/programming tool

Vincent,
Thanks for your help. It turned out to not be a software problem , but was a hardware problem.
It has been repaired and the firmware was successfully loaded.
I appreciate your help , thanks for your time.

Hi,

I'm glad to hear that it works.
Could you tell us what was wrong?
That might help other people who have the same problem to know where to look.

Best Regards,

Vincent

I was trying to program a power control board which utilized the ST7Lite09. The reason we were unable to program the chip was because we have a jumper that shorts two wires going to a control board on our device. The jumper , when removed, enables the chip to be flashed.
So, if you are unable to communicate with the device in which you are programming and you are able to communciate with the RLink, then more than likely your problem is something hardware related. Since the jumper disabled communciation from our ST7 header to the chip , it had to be removed. Two days worth of trouble for something so simple.......

Thanks again for you help
