Now I want to use RLINK standard to calibrate oscillator value of ST7FOXA0M6.
But I don't know how to operate? Does I need prepare some hardware for the calibration?
I can not found the related document about ST7FOX calibration?

It is urgent! Thanks a lot!

Hi Terry,

Calibration of FOX devices is done automatically upon programming. You just need to activate the "Calibrate before erase" option in the RLink option dialog (in Ride7 or RFlasher7). Also there is an option that performs the calibration in the command-line utility ST7_pgm.exe.

Bruno

Thanks your reply, You mean I just need to activate the "Calibrate before erase" option in the RLink option dialog, no need to use special hardware, right?

for ST7F0XA0M6, how many lines does I need to connect between the RLINK and ST7FOXA0M6? Does I need connect the pin 9 of 10pin ICC connector?

Thanks a lot!

Hi,

For the Fox devices, you don't need pin 8.

You might need pin 9 or not, depending on your board. (if you need an external clock and you don't have one at programming time because it will be soldered only later, for example) If you are not sure, connect it through a jumper that you will be able to plug or not depending on the situation. (you should avoid sending two clocks to the ST7)

You need all the other signals. (GND, VCC, ICCDATA, ICCCLK, RESET)

More information there:

...and in the ST doc that describes the ICC connector. ;)

Best Regards,

Vincent

Dear bruno and vincent,

thanks your reply.
I just want to know the procedure for doing ST7FOXA0M6 RC calibration with RIDE7 and RLINK standard version tools.

About PC software:
I know there is a software "ST7FOX Calibration" in RIDE7. And I just need run this software.

About Hardware:
I can first put ST7FOXA0M6 in the SO8 socket and connect ICP signal to the RLINK-std tools(
include ICCDATA,ICCCLK,RESET,VCC,GND and ICC pin 9). The 5V power supply is from RLINK USB.

I want to confirm if the preparation in software and hardware above is enough for doing the RC calibration? if not, could you help give some suggestions or provide the related documents.

Terry
