Hi all,

I use Rlink to program my project via SWIM and when I start debgging it always show the message "OPI DRIVER ERROR (STD) - No Response From the DTC"on Ride7. At first, I thought I have some issue with the SWIM programming (1st time deal with SWIM and STM8) and the micro wouldn't take the program.

Later on, I found out the micro did take the program and work the way it should so I'm just wondering why would the message ""OPI DRIVER ERROR (STD) - No Response From the DTC"appeared on Ride 7 everytime I start the debugging process. ? is it normal to Ride7 or I have some kind of error ?

Thanks lot,

Hi

It can be intersting to know if the problem is related to your application or not.
Can you precise:
- What is your software version?
- Does the problem appear with examples given by Raisonance?

Thank you for your response,

I don't have that problem with the REva V3.x starter kit and the message only showed when I start debugging with my hardware design.

1/ The Ride7 version I used labeled on the disk is Ride7-ST-BN89
2/ I used the example from Raisonance "Toggle" load into my project since I was not be able to create a blank project and start from scratch and the STM8 I used is the STM8S103K3.

Thanks again,

Hi

The software version you reference is not clear enough for me.
I suggest you use Help-About menu in Ride7.
Comparethis with the version in http://www.mcu-raisonance.com/mcu_downloads.html
If they are different try to update because I know that in previou version of our software
there was an issue with STM8S103K3 whereas STM8208 was working.

I've just upgraded Ride7 to version 7.24, the same message displayed "OPI DRIVER ERROR (STD) - No Response From the DTC" and this time I noticed it did program the micro but it would not let me run the firmware (debugging) from Ride7.

Hi

If you have upgraded the kit Ride7 and also the kit STM8 and you still have the problem
must be somewhere between adaptor and your board.

Please fill the RLink support form and send it to me by email.

Thank you for all the support Matloub,

It's working fine now and it was my mistake where I only upgraded Ride7 and not updated STM8 toolkit at the same time. I've just updated STM8 toolkit from the link you sent and it's working fine w/o any error message.

Thanks again,
