Hi,

I am using REva STM8S Starter Kit v3.3 and want to program STM8S105 which is on my external board.
Can I use the RLink on the REva board to program external board ?
An answer to this question is in "Microcontrollers FAQ" section but it only says that :

... For REva version 3.x:
This can be done as explained in the REva v3.x documentation...

But I couldn't find any explanation about this issue in the "REva Raisonance Universal Evaluation Board Motherboard (version 3 onwards) User Guide ver. 23 June 2009" document.
Did I miss this topic on that document or is the intended document different than I thought?

Thanks.

Hi,

First, I recommend you update your Ride7 and RKit-STM8 kits. some important updates and corrections have been made recently.

Here is a quote from the latest version of the doc (\doc\ST7\REva_User_Guide_MB.pdf, from january 2010, section 3.3):

Quote:
The 24 pin connector can also be used to make the embedded RLink able to
drive an external target board. For that you will have to use an adapter depending
on the target protocol. You can use adapters from stand-alone RLinks, or make
your own using the information here:

I expect that should answer your questions...

Best Regards,
