Hi, I'm working on a project where I used ST72F324J2 processor and I've been trying to use RLink STD to debug my code but it always showed a message" not compatible". I'm using ST7 VISUAL DEVELOP Version 3.4.0. I've read throught ST website and they said I can use RLink STD to debug ST7 up to 32k of code, is this true ? I'm looking forward to receiving your response. Thanks, |
Hi,
This is not related to the RLink, but to the ST7 derivative and debugger software...
This ST7 does not provide any hardware features for debugging.
In Ride we provide a very limited debugging for it, but it is hard to use because of the hardware limitations. (see the GettingStartedST7 doc for more information)
I'm not sure about STVD, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do not propose any in-circuit debugging with this ST7.
I think they recommend to develop the application using the ST7325xxx equivalent, which does provide a debug module, and then to switch to the 324 just before mass production.
Of course these are questions that you should ask to ST, not Raisonance.
Best Regards,
Vincent
Thank you for your response.
The reason I asked Raisonance because I'm using RLink and Raisonance also stated on their website RLink STD supported debugging capability for ST7. This is the link.
