I am trying to use the Ride7\RBuilder tools with an STM8S103 processor.
When I get to the point of building a project, the Launch RBuilder to generate source files check box is grayed out. RBuilder seems to be available for STM7 but not STM8.
Am I missing something?

no, you are not missing anything. This is listed under "known limitations" in Release_notes_RKit-STM8_2.32.10.0307.txt:
