Hi,
i'm newbie to ST boards, and have an STM8L-Discovery board connected only to USB.
i've installed the Ride7 and compiler,
compilation and simulator run fine,
but, when i try to debug i get following error:

OPI Driver error (231): Unable to open communication with RLink...

The board have printed ST-Link, but nothing about RLink,
i'need some aditional hardware to use RLink?

Any help, urllinks, etc,.. are welcome.

PD:
With STVD i can't compile with Raisonance...

Hi,

You can use Ride7 and RKit-STM8 to produce code for the STM8L-Discovery, but you need either to have an RLink (low-cost programmes, but it is NOT the integrated ST-Link) or to use STVD to program your files on your discovery board.

You should be able to use STVD without problem. Check out your tool settings and you should be fine.

Best Regards,
