Hello!
I'm registering and downloading Rkit-for STM8 -7.
Was fixed the license with restriction 32 kb code. Presently writes that ended the demo a period code-compressor and it is necessary registering.
But!!! I'm registering already!
What registration else needs?

Hi,

We have changed the registration scheme recently, and got several problems concerning the registration process.
First ensure you are using the latest software from http://www.mcu-raisonance.com/mcu_downloads.html.

Once Ride7 and RKit-STM8 are properly installed on your machine, go to http://www.mcu-raisonance.com/stm8_registration.html for free 32KB registration of your RKit-STM8.

Then you will be able to enjoy the smooth Raisonance STM8 tools.

Best Regards,

Hi, I've got the same problem. In command line I always got
C:\STM>rcstm8
RCSTM8 COMPILER V2.38.11.251 - Demo period is over. Please register
Copyright (c) Raisonance S.A.S. 1987-2011. All rights reserved.

But the licence looks good "Lite suite". I have several times passed through activation.

In couple days I've installed 2 copy of RKit-STM8 onto qemu and than onto vmware. Yesterday I compiled sample from stm8-discovery succesfully under qemu, but I could not get swim st-link ready under qemu. so I've installed RKit-STM8 under vmware. RKit-STM8's demo is compiled, but STDV sample through Ride7 compiler is not.

Another wonder is today under qemu I could not compile any more.

Please advise.

Hi,

Here is the bad news:

Quote:

Supported configurations/platforms

Raisonance tool sets and Ride7 operate on Windows 7 (including 64-bits),
Windows Vista (including 64-bits) and Windows XP SP3 (only 32-bits). Other versions of Windows, including
Windows 2000 and Windows Server, are not supported.
Administrative rights are required in order to install this software.

Only native versions of the operating systems are supported. Emulators
such as VMware, QEMU, Citrix, Wine, Xen (or others) are not supported.

So the best option for you is to use a machine with a standard Windows installation.

I realize that this has an impact on you and on lots of Linux customers, but Windows is hard enough for us :/

Hi,

I got the same problem 5-6 weeks after the first installation and activation. I have done the same thing as the gentlemen above me - Upgraded to the newest software and obtained a new serial key and activation code, but still nothing. I am running this on a Windows Vista Enterprise x32 SP2 edition. What am I missing?

Hi,

CodeCompressor has a specific status: It is NOT available with the Lite version.
If you need it, you have to purchase the RKit-STM8 Enterprise edition.

I am having the same issue with the code compressor being expired. The code compressor was installed automatically with the lite version and there is not a way to disable it that I can see. The properties for the code compressor in the project say not to compress during the build.

I have the Lite version installed on windows xp pro sp3.

How can the compressor be disabled / uninstalled if it will not work with the lite version?

Hi,

Not sure to fully understand your question.
This is a normal behavior: CodeCompressor is available only for RKit-STM8 Professional. You need to disable it through the Ride7 interface. Go to your application settings and change "CodeCompressor options | Output | Comrpess during build" to "No".
This will prevent CodeCompressor from being run upon application build.

Hi,
I have also tried to install Ride7 and RKit-STM8 on my computer (Windows XP SP3) and I have done the registration but I still can't compile my code. It was possible to compile the code on my old computer (Windows XP SP3).

I get the same message as mentioned before in this thread:
RCSTM8 COMPILER V2.40.11.327 - Demo period is over. Please register

When I look in the About dialogbox it says that compiler and linker are installed (Lite version)

Are there still a problem with the registration or I'm I doing something wrong?

I have also turned off the Code compressor.

The versions I have installed are:
RIDE7 7.36.11.0280
RKit-STM 2.40.11.0327

@PutteB:
Your serial key C96D-17B8-2D-804C-1FF4 was registered on our server with an incorrect date, which was probably the cause of your trouble.
Can you retry the registration process? It should be OK now.

Hi again and thanks for your support.

Unfortunately I still don't get it to work but maybe I did something wrong.

I went throu Help->License->Serial activation->Put in the serial no, C96D-17B8-2D-804C-1FF4.
Then I pressed Get activation code online and recieved an email with the code and I put it in the Activation code field and pressed Finish.

But I still get the same error message: RCSTM8 COMPILER V2.40.11.327 - Demo period is over. Please register.

I did try yesterday on my other computer running Windows 7 but it also fails to compile after registration.

Maybe I have created to many serial numbers in your system already because I have done a few tries with installation/uninstall.

Regards,
Patrik

Could you please suggest which tool I need to install to free compile ST7 ptoject ( only few Kbytes is sufficient)

Thanks

Same problem here also with native Vista 32 and version 2.42.12.0083 of the tools. Help->About shows STM8 Compiler and STM8 Linker with the Lite (32 Kb code limited) license, but there is also a line that reads STM8 CodeCompres.. Demo period is over. Please register

When I try to run STM8.exe from Command C:>, I get

RCSTM8 COMPILER V2.42.12.083 - Demo period is over. Please register
Copyright (c) Raisonance S.A.S. 1987-2012. All rights reserved.

Building projects in ST Visual Development also fails with this error message:

Hi,

It looks like your Ride7 installation suffers from an administrative rights problem. This typically happens when Ride7 has been installed in administrator mode, but *not* with the "Run as Administrator..." option. there may be other cases where this procedure is needed.

Here is a procedure that you must follow to reinstall your Raisonance tools, which will ensure that your installation is clean:

1) Download the Raisonance tools uninstaller from ftp://www.raisonance.com/pub/Utils/uninstall_raisonance.zip and execute it. It will remove all Raisonance tools from your disk.

***WARNING*** Be sure that there is no valuable data in your Ride7 installation directory and subdirs (including examples and projects created in the default Ride7 folder), as everything will be erased.

2) Download the latest Ride7 software and necessary RKit from http://support-raisonance.com/ and place them in a *local* directory on your machine (i.e., NOT on a network drive, CD-ROM or on a removable drive)
3) Right-click on the downloaded Ride7 installation package executable and select "Run as administrator", then proceed through the installation steps (REALLY DO IT!)
4) Right-click on the downloaded RKit(s) installation package(s) and select "Run as administrator", then proceed through the installation steps.
5) (First launch only) Click on "Start | Programs | Raisonance | Ride", then right-click on the Ride7 icon and select "Run as administrator", then open the "Help | About" dialog box.
6) Make a screenshot using the "Print Screen" key on your keyboard. Open the "Paint" tool from Windows and paste the screenshot into it. You can save the screen copy to an image file for later use.
Once the above steps have been followed, Ride7 should definitively be installed and in a proper shape.
7) You can optionally register your tools through Ride7 "Help | Licence" menu, following the instructions given.
Please let us know when the problem has been solved satisfactorily.

Sorry for not responding sooner; I was away for a few days. I needed to add C:\Program Files\Raisonance\bin to the PATH manually. Also, I was able to run the compiler once from Command, but the next time I tried it I received the "demo period is over" message. I will attempt the above procedure again in the next few days and report back.

I tried this procedure a second time and again received the "Demo period is expired" message. Thinking about it, I probably saw this immediately with the previous attempt as well. Do I need to generate new keys?

Hi,

Your serial key is enough. You just need to activate your Lite licence through the Help | About menu (see step 7 above).
I checked our registration server, and it looks like you have a serial key, but it has never been registered.

I just requested and installed new serial number and registration key around 2033 GMT. rcstm8.exe still shows demo period expired.
