Hi

I installed ride 7 at home on a vista computer , no problem , everything works fine
At work however I have an xp computer. When installing ride7 I have this problem:
not all of the directorys are copied to the ...\ride7 directory
I have then copied all files from my vista to the xp computer
This seems to work because I can now open projects and compile them

BUT :

It is impossible to create a new project , because I can not choose the target. There isn't a + sign before the target checkbox

This was also the case before the files being copied

I did this on 2 computer at work , both with an xp operating system , same result

Any idea what this could be ??

Best regards ,
Ronny

Hi,

Please confirm that when you installed, you were logged with a user account that has admin rights.

Please also give us the list of Ride kits you installed. (note that the Ride kit cannot work alone. you need a 'target' kit to go with it, for now either ST7-STM8 or ARM)

Finally, please tell us what directories were missing.

Best Regards,

Vincent

Dear Vincent

Thanks for your reply.
I didn't know I had to instal an extra kit , so I installed the arm kitt , and to my surprise it worked !
I can now create a new project and choose the processor I like.
So thanks again.

I wonder however then , how it is possible on my vista computer at home ,this works ,having just ride7 installed with nothing more. ???

Best Regards ,

Ronny

Hi,

I'm glad to hear that it works. (but I'm not surprised ;) )

Probably at home you installed from a CD that was automatically installing the two kits and you just didn't notice...?

You can check this by clicking 'help'->'about' and it will tell you which kits are installed and their versions.

Best Regards,

Vincent

The 2 kits were installed , but I didn't realize it ! I don't know why ... :-( , it just escaped my attention somehow ....

Anyway thanks again , I'm very pleased with the software , it works great !!
