Hello All,

I have been working a lot with Ride lately and the speed improvements you made make
it a lot quicker and a better program.

But there are as always some things that would make it even better ( at least for me) :

1) window positions

Ride remembers wich files were opened in the last session when you start Ride again.
Unfortunally the sequence of the file tabs in the editor is not saved so the files open in a different
sequence then what i had in the previous session.
Alltough its easy to reposition the tabs it is annoying if you have to do it every time.

So maybe this could be added to a future version.

2) project renaming

I have been working with the usb virtual com port from ST Microelectronics and found that it works
well on some test hardware that i designed for in house use.

Since the st project has a rather complicated directory structure i decided to move the files to my own
directory and remove some of the sub directories to make it easier.
This worked oke but although i renamed the project file it still showed 'virtiual com port' as the project name
in Ride and i could not find a way to change this.

I therefore created a new project and added all the files in the same way as they were in the original project
and then had to check every setting in the project option window and modify the ones that where different to
make sure that my new project would compile in the same way as the original ST project.

This toke quit some time (my computer and myself are not so fast) and that is a pitty because it could have been
avoided if there was an option to rename the project in Ride

Again, maybe it would be possible to add this in a future release.

It might be that these things are there already but that i did not find them, if that is the case please tell me
how these things should be done.

regards,
Ed van Rijn

hi Ed van Rijn,

Thank your for your remarks.

1) The one concerning the tab order of the edited files is a bug that should be fixed in the coming versions of Ride7.

2) Your second remark is part of the list of the improvements that are going to be available in the coming versions of Ride7. In the meanwhile, the project files are text files (.rprj and .rapp) so you could easily edit and modify them to rename or change the path of the component files.
