Can I add a button on the toolbar to load the flash, rather than opening up the advanced options every time?

You only need to deselect the "debug" option (in the Advanced options) and then the "Start Debug" command (Ctrl-D) will just load the flash.

You can also use the programming exe (STM8_pgm.exe), or use RFlasher. These will require switching the window (alt-tab) but it can be faster that opening the advanced options.
